Make your Shopify books match your bank.
TrueUp turns each Shopify Payments payout into the right lines in QuickBooks Online or Xero, so your books match your bank to the penny, automatically. No support call.
See your first match, then a free 14-day trial.
Your payout was never your sales total.
It's your sales with the fees, refunds and adjustments folded in, which is why it never matched on its own. TrueUp hands you the breakdown: every line put where it belongs, matched to your books to the penny, with a plain-English note on anything odd. No more Sundays tracing a missing fee.
Exactly what we do. And what we won’t.
We use the Shopify order and payout data needed to match your books, and nothing else. Then we write the matching lines to QuickBooks Online or Xero.
What TrueUp does
- Finds every fee, refund and adjustment in your payouts
- Matches each one to your books, to the penny
- Explains anything that doesn't add up, in plain English
- Keeps running on its own, every payout
What it never does
- Moves your money
- Requests or stores customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses
- Guesses at your numbers
- Ties you in (you can leave whenever you like)
Three steps. Then it just runs.
- 1
Connect your books
Pick QuickBooks Online or Xero. We pre-fill the mapping from your books. You give it a quick check and confirm. No setup call.
- 2
We do the fiddly bit
We read your real payout detail and split every fee and refund where it belongs, and we're careful with tax.
- 3
Matched to the penny
A clean entry that lines up with your bank deposit, and a plain-English note on anything odd.
A shorter route to matched payouts.

Questions, answered.
What does TrueUp do?
It makes the money Shopify deposits in your bank match the sales in QuickBooks Online or Xero, automatically and correctly, including the fees and refunds baked into every payout.
I've got the free connector already. Why do I need this?
The free connector imports your orders, then leaves you to figure out why your bank deposit doesn't match. TrueUp handles that whole payout-matching flow instead. If another connector already sends Shopify sales to your books, switch it off to avoid counting them twice.
Do I need to understand accounting?
No. We pre-fill sensible accounts from your books, show you what we've found in plain English, and leave only the choices we cannot make safely for you to confirm.
My payouts have refunds and chargebacks mixed in and nothing ever matches. Does this fix that?
That's exactly what it's built for. TrueUp reads the full breakdown of each payout and posts every line where it belongs, so the net matches your deposit to the penny. When something doesn't line up, it tells you which refund or adjustment caused it.
I use PayPal or Stripe as well as Shopify Payments. Does it work?
Right now TrueUp is built for stores running Shopify Payments, and it's the one thing it does. If most of your sales run through Shopify Payments, you're in the right place.
Do I still need an accountant?
For year-end and tax advice, yes. TrueUp keeps the payout work tidy month to month, so your accountant gets cleaner books and can spend less time untangling them.
What does setup involve?
Connect Shopify, then connect QuickBooks Online or Xero. We pre-fill your accounts for you to check and confirm, and you see your first payout match before the trial asks for payment.
What happens to payouts from before I install?
TrueUp starts matching from the first payout after you connect, and keeps going from there. It doesn't go back and fix older payouts.
Is my data safe? Can you see my customers' details?
TrueUp reads limited order, gift-card and payout data to match your books and surface expired balances. Its queries do not request customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses, and TrueUp does not store them. Gift-card data is kept only as an aggregate count and balance by currency. We never sell your data, and we only keep what the job needs for as long as it needs it.
What does it cost?
From $24 USD a month after a 14-day free trial. You get the same product at every volume; we work out the tier from your monthly orders, and Shopify shows you the price before you approve it.
What if a payout still won't match?
TrueUp tells you exactly why (the specific line causing the gap) instead of leaving you guessing. No detective work, no support ticket.
What if I want to stop using TrueUp?
Uninstall whenever you like. We don't lock you in, and we don't hold your books hostage on the way out.
Right every month. Cleaner at year-end.
TrueUp keeps each payout tidy as it lands, saving you the Sunday reconciliation session and giving your accountant cleaner books to review at year-end.
